What you need

tbsp smoked paprika

lb pasta

tbsp italian seasoning

tsp kosher salt

cup heavy whipping cream

cup parmesan cheese

white onion

tbsp onion powder

tsp cayenne pepper

lb shrimp

clove garlic

tbsp olive oil

tbsp unsalted butter

bell pepper

cup basil pesto
Instructions
1: In a small bowl, mix the Cajun spices together and season the shrimp with some of the mixture. 2: Cook the pasta according to package instructions, saving half a cup of pasta water. 3: In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter with olive oil. 4: Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 90 seconds on each side until done, then remove from skillet. 5: In the same skillet, add the remaining half stick of butter, sliced peppers, and sliced onion. 6: Once softened, add crushed garlic and cook until fragrant. 7: Stir in the remaining butter, heavy cream, remaining spices, and pesto, whisking until combined. 8: Let the sauce simmer until reduced by 1/3, then add cooked pasta and reserved pasta water. 9: Cook in the sauce for about 5 minutes until thickened, then remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese. 10: Top pasta with shrimp and additional Parmesan cheese and parsley. 11: Serve family style and enjoy!View original recipe
