What you need

cup cream

red bell pepper

white onion

tsp salt

cup grits

cup heavy whipping cream

tbsp unsalted butter

cup water

tsp garlic powder

lb shrimp

cup cheddar cheese

yellow bell pepper

tsp cayenne pepper

clove garlic

tsp onion powder

cup ham

oz creole seasoning

cup full fat milk
Instructions
1: To your shrimp add Tony's, onion powder and garlic powder. Mix so the shrimp are fully coated. 2: In a skillet melt 2 tablespoons of the butter until bubbly over medium heat. Add in your shrimp and cook for one to two minutes per side. Remove once it has turned pink. 3: In the same skillet, add two more tablespoons of butter. Add in your ham, onions, and peppers. Season with the same seasonings for the shrimp. Let cook for about 3 to 4 minutes. 4: Add in your garlic and cook until fragrant. Then add in the last two tablespoons of butter and let it melt down. 5: Add in your heavy whipping cream. Cook on medium low heat until the sauce reduces by half. Add in your water to loosen the sauce a little bit. 6: Once your sauce starts forming tight bubbles, turn the heat to low. Add your shrimp back in and let them cook for one to two minutes. Optionally add cayenne pepper for spice. 7: In a large saucepan set to medium heat, add milk, heavy cream, butter, and salt. Once the milk comes to a low boil, slowly stir in your grits. 8: Continue to whisk your grits to keep them creamy and without lumps. 9: Once your grits have thickened, remove from heat and add cheese. Serve it up and enjoy!View original recipe
